According to the debt restructuring agreement reached by the Argentine and the International Monetary Fund, Afghanistan needs to repay the organization's US $ 2.7 billion in foreign debt at the end of this month.
However, severe drought has adversely affected the Argentine economy, especially foreign exchange reserves.Therefore, the Afghanistan considers the use of the International Monetary Fund's special withdrawal rights and RMB settlement to pay the due debt.
It is reported that Afghanistan is negotiating with the International Monetary Fund and the People's Bank of China on related matters.
In this regard, Sairoti, a spokesman for the Argentine Presidential Palace, said that the above two methods of repayment of debts allowed the agreement reached by the Afang Fang and the International Monetary Fund, and would also reduce the risks facing Argentina's foreign exchange reserves.
